Privacy Policy - Cosmic Escape

This Privacy Policy applies to the Cosmic Escape mobile application (the "Application") operated by Kandarp Pandya (the "Service Provider"). It explains how information may be collected, used, stored, and shared when you use the Application.

1. Information We Collect

Cosmic Escape does not require you to create an account and does not directly ask you to provide your name, postal address, phone number, or email address in order to play the game.

If you voluntarily contact the Service Provider by email, the Service Provider will receive your email address and any information you include in your message.

The Application and the third-party services integrated into it may automatically process certain technical, usage, advertising, and diagnostic information. Depending on the service and your privacy choices, this may include:

Internet Protocol (IP) address and approximate/general location inferred from it;
device and operating system information;
app version, package name, language, country, time zone, and similar configuration information;
device or app-instance identifiers used by Google services;
gameplay and app interaction events;
advertising interactions and ad-delivery information;
crash reports, stack traces, diagnostics, and related app/device state.

2. Gameplay and Analytics Information

Cosmic Escape uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the Application is used and to improve gameplay, stability, and user experience.

Analytics events may include information such as:

application sessions;
chapter and level starts and completions;
level restarts and deadlock events;
Hint requests and results;
chapter and campaign progress;
advertising lifecycle events, such as whether an ad was requested, available, shown, or completed.

These analytics events are intended to describe use of the Application and are not designed to include information you type into forms, private messages, or account profile information because Cosmic Escape does not provide those features in its current version.

3. Advertising

Cosmic Escape uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display advertising. The Application currently uses:

rewarded ads, including ads that may be offered in connection with the Hint feature; and
interstitial ads shown at eligible points in the game.

Google Mobile Ads may process information such as IP address, device or advertising identifiers, app interactions, ad interactions, and diagnostic information for purposes including ad delivery, measurement, analytics, security, and fraud prevention.

A Hint is granted only when the rewarded-ad flow reports that the reward has been earned. If an ad is unavailable, fails to load, or cannot be shown, the Application does not provide a free rewarded Hint as a substitute.

4. Consent and Privacy Choices

Where required by applicable law, Cosmic Escape uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) and related Google privacy tools to request and manage advertising consent or privacy choices.

Advertising requests are made only when Google's consent system indicates that ads may be requested. Where Google requires privacy options to remain available, the Application may provide a Privacy Choices option in Settings so that you can review or update your choices.

Your available choices may vary depending on your location and applicable law.

5. Firebase Crashlytics

Cosmic Escape uses Firebase Crashlytics to help identify crashes, non-fatal errors, and stability issues. Crashlytics may process crash stack traces, diagnostic information, app state, device metadata, installation identifiers, and related technical information needed to diagnose application problems.

6. Firebase Remote Config

Cosmic Escape uses Firebase Remote Config to manage operational configuration without requiring a new application release. For example, Remote Config may be used to enable or disable advertising features and to provide advertising configuration such as ad-unit identifiers.

Remote Config is not used by Cosmic Escape to deliver new production levels or to store passwords, private keys, payment information, or other secrets.

Firebase Remote Config may process technical information such as country, language, time zone, platform and operating system version, Firebase application identifier, package name, and SDK version.

7. Local Game Data

Cosmic Escape stores certain gameplay information locally on your device, which may include:

game progress;
completed and unlocked levels;
tutorial or onboarding state;
game settings and similar preferences.

Local game data is generally removed when you clear the Application's storage or uninstall the Application, subject to the behavior of your device operating system and any backup or restore features you have enabled.

8. Third-Party Services

Cosmic Escape uses third-party services provided by Google. These services may process information under their own privacy policies and terms.

9. How Information Is Used

Information processed through the Application and its integrated services may be used to:

provide and operate the game;
save and restore gameplay state on the device;
understand gameplay usage and improve the user experience;
detect and diagnose crashes and technical problems;
deliver and measure advertising;
prevent fraud, abuse, and invalid advertising activity;
comply with applicable legal obligations.

10. Data Sharing

The Service Provider does not sell personal information directly.

Information may be processed by Google and Firebase services used by the Application, including for analytics, crash reporting, advertising, consent management, configuration, security, and fraud prevention, according to their respective terms and privacy policies.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the Service Provider, or others.

11. International Processing

Google, Firebase, and other service providers used by the Application may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Such processing is governed by the applicable service provider's terms, privacy policy, and legal safeguards.

12. Data Retention and Deletion

Local gameplay data remains on your device until it is changed or removed by the Application, cleared through your device settings, removed when the Application is uninstalled, or otherwise affected by device backup and restore features.

Information processed by Google, Firebase, AdMob, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, or consent services is retained according to the applicable service settings, retention controls, and privacy policies of those providers.

If you contact the Service Provider directly, correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, maintain appropriate records, or comply with legal obligations.

13. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to your personal information, which can include rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and rights relating to consent.

Where advertising or privacy choices are managed through Google's consent tools, you may use the privacy-choice controls made available by the Application or by Google where applicable.

14. California and U.S. State Privacy Rights

Residents of California and certain other U.S. states may have additional privacy rights under applicable law, which may include rights to know, access, correct, or delete personal information and rights relating to certain uses or sharing of personal information.

Where Google provides applicable advertising privacy controls, those choices may be made through Google's consent or privacy interfaces. You may also contact the Service Provider at [email protected] regarding information held directly by the Service Provider.

15. Children

Cosmic Escape does not require account registration or the direct submission of personal information in order to play. The Service Provider does not knowingly solicit personal information directly from children in violation of applicable law.

The availability of advertising and consent features may depend on the age, audience, region, and privacy settings applicable to the Application and the user. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has provided personal information directly to the Service Provider, please contact [email protected].

16. Security

The Service Provider takes reasonable measures to protect information handled directly by the Service Provider. Third-party services used by the Application apply their own security practices and safeguards.

Information transmitted between the Application and Google/Firebase services is generally transmitted using encrypted network connections provided by those services.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the Application, its services, legal requirements, or privacy practices. The updated version will be posted at this page with a revised effective date.
